Featured Purveyor -Randy Cooke

If you have ever had the pleasure of tasting one of ourt Cooke's Cove Malpeque oysters, then you have had the pleasure of tasting the fruit of Mr. Randy Cooke's labors.  As an aside...The Small Choice Cooke's Cove Malpeque was the first oyster I ever tried, and I was immediately sold.  There is an upside and a downdide to this...The upside is that there are many, many other varieties which (in my opinion) pale in comparison to the Cooke's Coves, and if I had by chance stumbled upon one of these first, it very well could have been my first and last oyster...The downside is that by virtue of trying the Cooke's Cove Malpeque first, the bar was set pretty high.  I know...We should all have such problems.  At any rate...Randy and John have been business partners and great friends for years.  Their joint venture, Howard's Cove Shellfish is located in the rural Prince Edward Island hamlet of Ellerslie, on the shores of Malpeque Bay.  As with so many in the industry, Randy is somewhat of a character...And I mean that in the nicest possible way.  Randy is always ready with a smile and is never at a loss for words when a little levity should be interejected.  If you are looking for marketing materials to put a face with the oyster (as it were), simply say the word!  It never ceases to amaze me how bringing a personal element to a product bosters consumer confidence, and leads to an increase in demand.  Please feel free to to contact us for more information on this this service, Randy, or any other aspect of the fishery.
